Good mattress but terrible customer service...lost me as a customer

Good mattress but terrible, terrible customer service. Your order will be later than they advertise, period. You will not be able to get any information on how much later.
I also ordered pillows that were meh. Same bad delivery and customer service experience.
Ordered furniture that fell apart and was met by incompetent customer service. They kept asking me to send videos of it falling apart and then said they couldn’t open them and had zero idea of how to proceed with the smallest of obstacles that were entirely their fault. I felt like I was being trolled. Even their return process has extra steps other modern companies do not have. I wanted to love this company, but in this day and age companies need to realize that we’re busy people and can’t spend hours on all sorts of steps related to an issue. Make the process short and simple and you’ll have happy customers. I’m kicking myself for not shopping for a mattress on Amazon. They make even large returns simple and easy.
In retrospect I wouldn’t pay what they charge for a business that is mismanaging their customer experience business.

I have rated a 3 because I have not yet…

I have rated a 3 because I have not yet received the product. But just wanted to state that legitimate publications like Consumer Reports and U.S. News & World Report and several others have rated their green mattress as the best you can buy. So if that is true then a little bit of lousy customer service can be tolerated. Because with Covid pretty much every company's customer service has gone way downhill. I will update when product is received

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. I don’t know what it is about these social media companies but everyone of them sucks at customer service. Especially ones based out of SoCal. Being from CA myself Avocado represents the “o well” attitude the rest of the state hates. I received and incomplete order Long shipping delays. Zero updates and no replies to emails. So good luck trying to get them to fulfill their satisfaction guarantee. One thing that brings me hope is they will no longer be able to claim made in America after Biden’s reform bill goes into effect. Avocado just puts imported material together and slaps an American flag on it. If i buy a puzzle from Russia but put it together in the U.S. is that puzzle made in America?

Don’t trust Avocado delivery promises

Ordered two king pillows on Nov. 30, 2020 as Christmas gifts for my daughter/son-in-law and credit card charged immediately. Website indicated pillows ship in 1-2 weeks. After weeks with no tracking I was told it was now 2-4 weeks. It is now Feb. 3, 2021 and they still cannot tell me when the pillows will ship. Why would they charge my credit card when they haven’t even produced the pillows yet? Customer service’s explanation changes every time I complain. I think over nine weeks is more than enough time to manufacturer a couple of pillows. I cancelled my order today and am now told it could take over a week to get my refund.

The customer service for this company…

The customer service for this company is disappointing, the mattress are terrible quality and have started seeing a chiropractor. I’ve been reaching out to customer service for WEEKS and keep getting the run around, I want my 30 day trial to be honored and I want this mattress out of my house with my money back. If this proceeds I will individually reach out to every person complaining on these posts, find more, and file an action lawsuit. This is beyond upsetting and disgusting. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!! There are so many other organic companies that offer way better products and service. I feel as if I’ve been sleeping on a cardboard mattress.

They shouldn't be taking peoples money…

They shouldn't be taking peoples money if they can't deliver the product. After several months of nothing I got a notice that it will be at least... which means possibly more... another month. Terrible customer service... who knows if their product is any good. Also they have had a LOT of my money for 2 months. I can't help but wonder if I have been scammed. Worse still I can't get in touch with a person to even cancel the order.

PLEASE READ ALL THE MOST RECENT REVIEWS!

If I knew how awful the experience would be - I would have NEVER ordered it. In this time of great financial stress, we find ourselves in need of a good bed for my sick husband. After waiting for the mattress and the bed since AUGUST- we get the same runaround everyone else has been experiencing. I am sorry - but it does not make me feel better. PLEASE consider all your options before sinking $5000+ into something you may not ever see! And their answer? Well if you want we can cancel and you can go with someone else - except I don't know when the funds will be reversed back to your account!!!

Can't tell you how the mattress actually is...

So...I want to start by saying this isn't a review of the mattress...because despite ordering it 8 weeks ago and being told when ordering it 3-4 weeks to build it and 3-5 days shipping, still hasn't been shipped YET they have had my money since I ordered it AND if I hadn't emailed them a couple times I never would have even heard anything from them. The people are very nice when you eventually get to them but despite seeming like a hip and modern company they have no customer support or way to track your order without emailing them. Last time I was told scheduled to be completed Oct 20 and they would email me. Nothing. If I was a company that had issues in their supply chain, and I really cared a lick about my customers, I'd at least be emailing them apologies, ESPECIALLY if I had taken their money and these aren't cheap!, but the only time I've heard from them is if I email them. Additionally...their website says actual unedited reviews but you will notice they are all 2+ years old and 5 star if you look at the first pages and no way to sort them and who has the time to go through 25000 reviews. I'd be willing to bet if you could put in a review and/or get the latest reviews...their customers would not be very happy with this company. Take your customers money before you have built their bed or shipped it and then go away and never contact them...yeah this is legal robbery... I really wish I had gone with my first instinct and ordered an Idle or something else because this has been very disappointing.

Do not buy!

Do not buy!! They jack you around with production times. Every excuse is "covid" this and "covid" that. Now they cant get items to make anything and did they tell anyone? NO. I had to keep pestering and pestering where my order is. This is ridiculous. I have cancelled my order. And customer service is a joke. You wont get anything but cue card scripts from them.
Lastly, do not buy the alpaca mattress topper. Jear Desus does it stink. Like a barn. After 3 weeks it still stinks. Quite nasty. And its not at all soft as you would expect alpaca to be. Huge disappointment all the way around.

WARNING to those who want to purchase…

WARNING to those who want to purchase an avocado mattress: this was the worst customer service experience, I have ever had with a company from start to finish. Avocado was unable to locate our mattress, after FedEx said it's 'on a truck for delivery' for 3 days, and the status for when it was to be delivered changed 3 times. We asked Avocado for support on locating our purchase. After being passed along from one rep. to another, no one from Avocado was able to locate our mattress. The most alarming part of this major inconvenience was the lackadaiscal response from the Avocado team. There was absolutely 0 sense of urgency to locate our purchase, and to be honest 0 care. The lack of empathy was alarming and evident. Two managers and reps. said they would follow up with us each day we had not received the mattress, and neither did. One manager said she'd be out of the office and offered no support as to who would oversee the case. After my fiance and I were looking forward to using this product, we never did, as still until this moment no one knows where our purchase is, and we asked for a full refund which was given to us after I had to follow up numerous times. To put it in perspective, our mattress was suppose to be delivered a week and a half ago, and yes, we ordered it in advance as recommended due to 'covid delays'. My one recommendation to Avocado would be to invest in a new delivery service. There are many other companies who deliver and have come through for customers during these times. Also teach your representatives some empathy and compassion. Your investment in the environment and making it a better place should be just as important if not more so than your investment in customer care and service.

Don't waste your time with this company…

Don't waste your time with this company because their service is awful, even though the products they sell appear to be outstanding. I ordered a mattress, plush mattress topper and a bed frame on May 23rd. I received the mattress on June 1st and the bed frame on June 4th. I am still waiting for the mattress topper after 24 days. I have left 3 "callback" emails, since there is no business number listed on the website for customers to call. The fastest way to get any information from this company is a "Chat;" however, after four different chats, I have been told the mattress topper is "in the last stages of production" and will be delivered next week, which is the same story I was told In the prior chat. Although the company provides a 25-year warranty on their mattresses, I came to find out that the warranty is actually only 10 years, with a proration occurring after that. It doesn't really matter, since I doubt this company will be around for another 5 years, based on the total lack of customer service that I have personally received. It appears as though even in the production of the CODID-19 masks, people are having problems with their orders. It appears as though this company is stretched too thin. I would advise anyone thinking about buying from this company to think again, because even though they appear to have a good product, they cannot service your order in a timely fashion and most likely will not be around five years from now, given their total lack of respect for their customers. I wish the review websites that rate the mattress as number "1" would post additional reviews that focus more on the total lack of customer service from Avocado Green, which makes purchase of their products pointless.

Bought sheets

Bought sheets. Horrible. Not soft at all. You can get better quality for $30 at Target. Customer service is a joke. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to get a refund. Horrible all around.
